Human rights are the basic standards that people need to live in dignity. All human beings are entitled to enjoy human rights. Human rights exist to make sure that we are treated properly and fairly, and given the freedom to develop to our full potential, and to promote our wellbeing.
Structures such as government policy have been held by some commentators to mask the ways adults abuse and exploit children, resulting in child poverty, lack of educational opportunities, and child labor. On this view, children are to be regarded as a minority group towards whom society needs to reconsider the way it behaves.
One Canadian organization categorizes childrens rights into three categories:
Provision,
Protection,
Participation,
Economic, social and cultural rights,
Environmental, cultural and developmental rights,
