Our work is devoted to the system of exercises for teaching and developing oral speech skills.
The process of effective teaching of hearing and speaking is discussed in terms of developing a sound teacher-student relationship, understanding attitudes, styles and background of the students. A good teacher is expected to adjust his teaching methods and principles accordingly. In most cases, an inquiry and problem based technique is expected to be more effective in producing an environment conducive to better communication. Using methods help the teacher to make her lesson more effective. Finally, teaching and developing oral speech skills are described as the transformation of a fresh student into a refined graduate in the classroom. The quality of teaching material and different teaching methods and principles help to improve this transformation. Teaching and developing oral speech skills are one of the essential parts of psychology and pedagogy. Teaching and developing oral speech skills doesn’t only mean getting foreign language speaking and writing skills.
Language came into life as a means of communication. It exists and is alive only through speech. When we speak about teaching a foreign language, we first of all have in mind teaching it as a means of communication.
In teaching speech the teacher has to cope with two tasks. They are: to teach his students to understand the foreign language and to teach them to speak the language. So, speech is a bilateral process. It includes hearing, on the one hand, and speaking, on the other. When we say "hearing" we mean auding or listening and comprehension. Speaking exists in two forms: dialogue and monologue.
Practical value of this paper is determined by the fact that the developed material and proper tasks and exercises make available the use of this work as a manual in teaching a foreign language at classroom or as a given homework, or as a useful material for elective additional courses of foreign language at school.
